Dinner for Two at Chiripom, Tel Aviv
Chiripom is a quaint and charming restaurant on Ahad Haam Street not far from the Tel Aviv Great Synagogue. The modest decor can be described as shabby chic - I call it lovingly chic. The interior is cozy and rustic with original tiled floors and tables with mismatched chairs. The basic homey style takes you back to the early days of Tel Aviv.
Chiripom is Master Chef winner Avi Levi's third restaurant. Levi's restaurants are all inspired by traditional Jerusalem, Moroccan and Algerian cuisine. Call the cuisine Algerian or whatever you want. We call it delicious and fairly priced food.
Chiripom is a tapas style restaurant. The menu offers a list of small dishes in no particular order, that can be shared between people dining together.
We were advised to order four dishes for the two of us sharing, .though they vary in size. We chose one meat dish, one fish dish and two veggie dishes. Each was unique and delicious.
Chiripom is a winner. Good to reserve places in advance.
Pay parking on Ahad Haam Street.
