About 1868 Kosher Restaurant

In the year 1868 Jews ventured outside the walls of the old city and built a beautiful structure on King David Street covered in Jerusalem stone with high ceilings and different sized internal spaces. This building houses the restaurant 1868.

Chef Yankeke Turjeman defines the 1868 kitchen. A Jerusalemite in his soul, Yankele was trained in London where he lived and worked in several modern European restaurants. He presents a creative menu based on quality seasonal ingredients from the local markets. The restaurant combines modern cooking techniques, kashrut, the old and new, the unique Jerusalem atmosphere and the high end kitchen. The walls of the restaurant are lined with fine wine from local wineries in the Galil and the Judean Hills.

Recently the restaurant was renovated. The rooms were modernized in keeping with legacy design.

1868 is a wonderful place to celebrate private and business events up to 80 guests. The restaurant has several different sized rooms for different size parties.
