My wife and I recently
ate at the Halleluya Restaurant in Eilat, which is located in the older Tourist
Center on Yoram Road (opposite the city tourist information Center).
The restaurant serves
both Moroccan and Chinese food, wth a large selection of both. There is an
indoor and a covered outdoor area with tables and chairs that can accommodate
about 25 people and indoors about 60. The decor indoors is Middle East and
oriental, very clean, and we were impressed with the colorful tablecloths.
About the Halleluya Menu
We decided on the
Business Lunch which consisted of a variety of tasty salads, a main course
and a drink for 39 Shekels. We were offered 5 salads, one of which we asked
to exchange for something more to our taste and the waitress was happy to
bring the preferred one. The salad portions were small, but enough for the
two of us. For the main dish I chose broiled chicken livers and my wife chose
the chicken steak. Both were served with crisp chips and fresh salad. The
portions were very large and we could hardly finish them. We both had soft
drinks with the meal. The service was quick and very courteous, which we appreciated.
Prices for the various
other choices were very moderate compared to many of the other local restaurants
and with the additional eLuna discount this will be a most reasonable place
to eat. The owner claims that his is the only kosher L'mehadrin restaurant
in Eilat. He told me that the son of a former chief rabbi had eaten there
the week before we came.
We recommend this
for a pleasant meal in a pleasant atmosphere. We enjoyed the experience
very much.
Note: The restaurant
business card lists the following dishes:
