Not long ago a kosher restaurant could not be found on the Shimon Ben Shetach Midrachov. Lead by the prominent Gabriel restaurant, there are now three fine restaurants on this block.

Mendelson restaurant is the newest kosher restaurant on Shimon Ben Shetach. This is a classic café/restaurant offering lovely pasta dishes as well as a host of wonderful salads, sandwiches, and great desserts. Mendelson is an informal café/restaurant, easy on your pocketbook. It is a good place for a light meal, a nice break from your downtown activities, and just the right location for a meeting with friends or just a comfortable relaxed stop in downtown Jerusalem.
The Mendelson menu is in both Hebrew and English. The menu includes a nice selection of salads, lasagna, quiche, and pasta. Shakshuka tops off the dairy menu. The restaurant signature dishes are the Penne with cream and pine nuts and pasta with herbs and vegetables. The pasta dishes are served with a side salad. Shakshuka is served with bread and tehina.
Mendelson also offers a nice selection of dairy desserts, and if you are not in for the full nine yards, a coffee and dessert can be just the thing.
Stop in at Mendelson restaurant for a light dairy meal or just a cuppa with a nice dessert. There is seating both indoors and outdoors. Weather permitting, the outdoor seating is the place to be.
Salads: 40 shekel range, Pasta dishes range between 44 and 48 shekels. Shakshuka NIS 32
