Cafe Michael opens at 7:30 in the morning with fresh yeast cakes and delicious
breakfasts. The light menu continues with a very nice selection of appetizers, sandwches, toastim, salads and pizza. Then there are a nice selection of main courses including pasta dishes, lasagna, quiche and attractive veggie dishes. The flavors are Mediterranean with plenty of olive oil, garlic and herbs. The dishes are influenced by the Italian kitchen because this cuisine is also Mediterranean.
The main course that caught our eye was the strozzapreti (priest choker) with roasted tomatoes, spinach, baked garlic, and olives. What is Jack Sauce? It appears to be sauce flavored with whisky. You can try this over mushrooms and parmesan cheese in the Cheese Ravioli dish. Pasta, it seems, is not only boiled but at Cafe Michael you can have it baked wtih Bechamel saucecheese and bread crumbs.
