Dinner for Two at Ruben Restaurant, Ashdod

Ruben is a chain of kosher meat restaurants. It is best known for its burgers and smoked meat sandwiches. But if you thought that Ruben was just a burger restaurant, we are here to set you straight. The most popular menu items are indeed the burgers in a variety of shapes and sizes. But there are also meat sandwiches and other high-end meats that you should not miss.



On our visit to the Ashdod branch, I was in the mood for a corned beef sandwich. I was concerned that the 200 gram corned beef sandwich would not be big enough compared to the large and sometimes double patty burgers on the Concept Burger menu.

My sandwich, stuffed with hot corned beef, lettuce, pickle, sour kraut, a bit of red onion, fried onion and a drippy sauce, was big and satisfying. Of course I had my favorite fries, which came with ketchup and spicy mayo on the side. This was a four napkin sandwich and I was in heaven..
