Landwer in the Azrieli Ayalon Mall
February 2025
Landwer restaurants dot the countryside. These are mostly franchise restaurants, each with its own owner. Though all the branches share the Landwer menu, each restaurant has its own "personality."
Landwer in the Azrieli Kenyon Ayalon is unique in that although it is in a mall, it is not a standard mall restaurant. The restaurant is located at the far end of the hall in a corner of the second floor. The restaurant is closest to Shaar Barak – the Barak gate.

Thus, Landwer in the Ayalon Mall is actually a destination restaurant, off the major flow of mall traffic. Despite its out of the way location, the restaurant is quite popular and you’ll be lucky to get a seat, any time of the day. Landwer is the go-to café/restaurant for mall shoppers and friends seeking a comfortable out-of-the-way place to chat
Landwer in Kenyon Ayalon is designed to look like a neighborhood outdoor Tel Aviv coffee bar. All the seating is in a corral, with no inside area. The vibe is of a family neighborhood restaurant. You cannot see the kitchen from the seating area and you will wonder where the dishes are coming from.
During the day the restaurant does a landmark business in toastim, pastas and light meals. The coffee and the hot winter drinks are also a hit, including different types of chai and tea. Real fresh squeezed orange and carrot juice are a special treat.
The best thing we bought at Kenyon Ayalon was lunch. |
The evening is another story. In the evening Landwer is not to eat and run. As the mall thins out of shoppers, rather than a restaurant in a mall, Landwer becomes a proper restaurant, surrounded by a mall.
The full menu is available throughout the day but for a complete dinner we recommend one of the 8 fish meals. A Landwer dinner goes especially well with cocktails and wine from the bar.
The Landwer menu offers some of the most reasonably priced fish dishes on any restaurant menu. These are beautifully prepared and served aesthetically. A favorite is the Sea bream 'Aqua Patcha', a pair of bream fillets roasted in the oven in a sauce of candied cherry tomatoes, basil and white wine, served with a side dish of your choice. 107 shekels.
When my companion and I stopped in at Kenyon Ayalon to do some shopping, we paused for lunch at Landwer. We shared a salad and a pasta dish and topped it off with coffee and a chocolate dessert. The service was quick and polite. Note: This is the only restaurant out of many where we did not have to ask for serving spoons.
The portions of the fettuccine in Rose sauce and the salad were both very generous and large enough to share. The Pasta Rose was prepared in a cream sauce, with tomatoes and Parmesan. The pasta was well cooked and the sauce was perfect. The Farmers salad made a pretty picture, with fresh and crispy vegetables served on a large lafa bread. The salad was topped with cheese, a nice mix. We finished our meal with a dessert of chocolate Rozalach in a pistachio sauce.
There are some extra advantages to restaurants in a mall. There is ample parking close to the entrance, the mall has handicapped access, and you will always find seating out of the rain.
