A superior Merlot. The Barkan Merlot '98 is certainly one of the best wines I have tasted in a long time. One of the great advantages to this wine is that it is at the same time, complex and fun to drink. It has beautiful clarity, a shimmering red color and is so smooth to the taste. For people who find cabernets too strong and heavy bodied, this medium bodied merlot is the perfect substitute. Young, yet complicated, this merlot '98 mingles a variety of tastes leaving a pleasant sensation on the palate. This wine won a silver medal at the French wine competition.
