This chardonnay is virtually indistinguishable
from the '97 . It, too, is excellent. I would even advise buying
a case to drink and enjoy over the next few years. I am betting
that the Dalton Chardonnay '98 ages as well in its bottle as
did the '97. The wine is a study in contrasts - it hints at
smoothness and then surprises with a kick, it is not a sweet
wine but those who enjoy sweet wines will not be disappointed
here because of the fruity tones within this fine chardonnay.
This wine deserves more than just to be served with pizza or
chips.
